Over all I am satisfied with it.
It keeps a good edge, is razor sharp, and makes filleting at water’s edge easy.
I have only had it a short time (used it less than 6 months) and clip it to my wading belt when I go into the surf to fish. It has come in handy there especially when I had to cut lose an angry stingray that was flipping around too much to handle safely as well as a few gafftops.
I have seen some signs of rust on its tang and that bothers me. (My buddy has a similar knife that he has worn into the water for over 6 years without any rust).
I do have to disassemble it to clean it or else the blood/scum gathers inside the handle and begins to smell.
The griper is handy for pulling skin while I fillet.
The clip to release the blade is not easy to use when you hands are wet/slimy and the snaps holding the knife in the sheath and the grippers closed are a little too tight for easy use in the field.
The one I have has a bright orange rubber-like handle which makes it easy to spot and grip especially when I am in the water.
Two modifications I would suggest for us surf fishers:
1. Make the handle floatable to prevent it from being easily lost.
2. Put some way to attach a lanyard to the handle.
Compared to most other knives on the market it is superior, but its cost makes it more of a luxury than a necessity.
