Now this is a knife!
Drop Point/Double D/Orange - I'm a sailor and never without my knife. its a utility thing but most importantly a safety thing. This blade will slide right through any line - usually without even needing to 'saw'. Just press. Especially on a line under tension. The handle is great wet or dry - big and comfortable in the hand. And I like orange! Nice SECURE sheath too. One of my best friends on the water and elsewhere.

Really Impressive
Bought this knife from my son because he was selling, you know dad's have to do that. I didn't think it was going to be any better than any other hunting knife I've used. Wow was I wrong, used it to field dress an Elk, had one of my buddies with me, neither of us could believe the knife would stay sharp, but it did. Even used it to cut tree saplings out of the way. Now looking at buying more for gifts, my buddy is buying one immediately.

I usually dont do reviews but after using my new cutco knife I felt I should take the time.
I recently had the pleasure to assist on an Arkansas Elk hunt. where we were fortunate enough to harvest a very nice 7x7 Bull. The tag holder was told he would need at least 4 good knives if he harvested an animal and should be prepared to use them all. I am writting this because we completly caped and quartered this Bull with my new Cutco 5718 drop point with the "DD" blade. We all are very impressed with how this knife performed. Although we were prepared to use other knives if needed, there was no need. and best of all it is as sharp now as when I started. And no I didnt get paid to say this. I just know a good product when I use one. thanks again for a great product.

They don't get any better than these !
I was first introduced to Cutco over 20 years ago by a friend whose dad had owned one for quite some time. I was quite skeptical when he said his dad had never had to sharpen it after field dressing numerous elk and deer. But I took a chance and ordered one of the Double-D Drop Point blades. I have owned numerous hunting knives over the years including custom blades costing over $200 and have yet to find anything that even comes close to these remarkable knives. Since that original order I have purchased, if memory serves me right, over 15 more of these knives as gifts to kids, grandkids, and friends (not to mention another one for myself !) I have field dressed, skinned, and processed 6 elk, an unknown number of mule deer, fur bearing animals, etc. and have only sent it back for sharpening once. My wife and I even use it for cutting most everything from cloth and paper to leather products. Phenomenal product !! I also own the scissors, paring knives, both carving knives and am preparing to place an order for the table knives and vegetable peeler. Needless to say I am a very satisfied, tried and true Cutco customer !
