440A Steel is low grade for a sportsman's knife
I have the 1891 (straight edge). I purchaed this thinking it was a high quality knife. months later I did some research and found found that for the money I could have got a much better knife from Benchmade or Spyderco. I love the over all design and look of the knife but the the blade is made of 440A steel which is used in cheaper knives. Good knives are usually made with 440C, VG10 or 154CM steel will hold their edge much better. I really like the knife but which it was made with a higher quality steel. For as much as it cost, it should be.
I use this product for:general use, outdoors

This one is mine!
Not everything I own is just for my use, but my lock blade Cutco is. I've used it for a few rabbit and squirrel seasons now and I love it. This knife was a gift, but after using it for a year, I bought four knives for use in the kitchen. Great weight
and balance and EXTREAMLY sharp. I think I like the straight edge blade better for the kitchen,- just a little easier and smoother cut. They're my babbies.
I love them.

Why would you buy this knife?
When for $73 you could buy 18 mass produced throwaway pocket knives of Chinese origin at a local gas station checkout? No honest person could stand before you with this knife in hand and try to explain where the $73 in value is. Does it auto open? No. Is it sharp? No. Easy to open with one hand? No. Made in America? Yes! If you willing to support poor quality in American manufacturing by wasting $73 - this is the knife for you!
I would have enjoyed more value from the temporary warmth that burning $73 dollar bills would have brought me on a cold winter day.
I use this product for:paper weight

I have owned many different types of pocket knives over the years, thought this was going to just be one for the collection. I was wrong, needed a knife for something about 6 months ago, haven't put it up yet...

He loves it!!!
I bought this for my bf for Chirstmas. He works in the landscaping business and is always using his pocket knife. He loves how sharp it is and even his boss ordered one after using it. I bought the knife with the Double D edge and would highly recommend it. No complaints as of yet and worth the money.

great product
This is my first cutco purchase. Heard about the company from a friend and decided to get the lockback with DD for my fiance. He is constantly going through box cutters so I thought this would be a good replacement. Not only has it held up to the wear and tear of that thus far, but it cuts through factory plastic packaging like butter. I will be buying more knives in the future. Thanks cutco

I purchased two of these knives, one for each of my Sons! They were thrilled! They are the sharpest pocket knives either of them ever had! Great job, Cutco! Thanks!

My first! and last! (maybe haha)
The only one I need! I thought I lost it and nearly died. Nope! My baby clung on to the outside of my embroidered purse for two days! Haha. I love this knife. It's perfect, everyone is always jealous. It fits to my hand perfectly, I can whip it out and flip it around in 4 seconds ready to punch and protect myself. Perfect for a lady. (a strong lady)

Great knife for work
I am a plumber at a large hospital. My problem with knives in the past was finding one that would stay sharp cutting cardboard and and strapping on shipments of materials.I recommend the double d blade if you are using this knife for work. The blade lossens up and starts to open easier with continued use.The double d blade stays sharp cutting various materials. It is a little pricey, but with the lifetime guarantee it is well worth the cost if you use your knife often.I also have the fillet knife which I love.

Every Man Should Have
I bought this for my husband, He is a mechanic and he goes through knives several times a yr UNTIL I got him this knife. HE LOVES IT!! He Does Not Leave Home without it! It is Very Sharp and Durable. The friends he has shown it too, take the blade and go down the hair on their arms and at the bottom of their arms is a ball of hair! (Must be a man thing...lol..),. He Loves it so much I bought him another one, So when the one he uses all the time goes in to be sharpened he will always have a back up one! ... I/ WE HAVE RECOMMEND THIS KNIFE! Most Definitely worth the money! =)

Great carry pocketknife
I have owned this knife for over a year now. It was given to me by a Cutco rep in an attempt to help me see how good Cutco blades really are. Ever since I was given this knife, I have not wanted to go back to any of my previous knives. The double d blade combined with the knife's ability to stay sharp is amazing. I have used this to cut just about any substance I can think of short of concrete and steel. Granted, I am known for abusing my knives and my Cutco blade has some pretty decent nicks in it and is about to be sent in for re-sharpening but I still very much enjoy it. The forever guarantee has played a big part in me not shying away from using the knife due to its price so kudos to Cutco for that.
The only reason I did not give this knife all 5's is because of its plastic handle. I would love to see a metal handled version from Cutco as under pressure I can feel the handle bend which is a bit disconcerting. Also, the belt clip is enlarging the hole it is set in due to the hole being made of plastic.
Again, amazing knife, love the blade, just give me a metal handle and I'll be squared away for a long time.

good multipurpose knife
This knife is good overall. There is really nothing about it that I can see that makes it exceptional. It is rugged and sharp enough to be reliable, but it doesn't differ from a good knife that can be purchased at a department store for about half the price.

GREAT KNIFE
Excellent knife, would be great to have a sheaf either come with the knife or available as an accessory, the clip helps but doesn't provide 100% confidence that the knife will not fall off.

Great knife!
I bought this knife at the state fair over a year ago and keep it on my person all the times. This knife is truly durable. It also stays incredibly sharp. I've been cutting boxes at work and cut into those large metal staples and it is does not seem to phase this knife. I would recommend this knife to anyone who wants a solid, do anything pocket knife.

Excellent Knife
As a Cutco Sales Representative, I was already well informed of the quality of Cutco knives. I was very excited to see that when i got my Lockback knife it fulfilled its reputation and then some. The sturdiness and sharpness of the Double-D edge is impossible to match, and is ideal for everyday tasks. I would (and have) recommended this knife to everyone I know.

100% satisfaction
I use this knife daily on the farm. This small but very sharp knife has been a great addition to my cutco knife collection.
