I have had my table knives since 1960 and never have I had a better table knife. Only a couple of years ago I had two handles that broke. I sent them back to the company and they were replaced promptly. Worth their money.

Table knives
We've enjoyed a complete set of knives for several years, however, the table knives have been a disappointment. Of the eight original knives, 7 have failed over the years. The blade separates from the handle. It is the only knife in the set where the blade does not extend the entire length of the handle, and that appears to be root of the problem. We believe the table knife design is defective. Cutco claims this is not the case, but our experience suggests otherwise.
We did not save the pieces of the failed knives so we have nothing to send to Cutco for examination and replacement. They did offer a discount off the price for replacements, however, we're reluctant to spend more money on knives that are defective by design.

Great knives, pricey yes but kitchen work is long and hard work over the years. These knives make those chopping, dicing, slicing years easy peezy. Warranty is second to none. This company is like in the old days when a company made a great product, stood behind it and you never had to replace the household item. What's so amazing is my sister told me about these kniveswhen we were in high school (graduate 1967) ans suggested I buy for my "hope chest". Women of 2011 buy or ask for them for your "hope chest" you can't go wrong. Signed, 62 year old mom, wife and grandmother still chopping, dicing and slicing healthy food in Denver CO ....go Tebow!

Awesome knives
I have had my knives for about 20? years. Just love them! They get used a ton and I sharpen them each year which is FREE. The only thing we pay is postage and handling which is minimal.
This last time I sent them in for sharpening, THEY ACTUALLY REPLACED 3 OF MY KNIVES WITH BRAND NEW ONES!!! NO CHARGE!!
I have purchased them for many family members as gifts, eventhough they are pricey. That way, they can add to their collection after they are spoiled by how great they are.
Sincerely,
Bushra Hotaling

Great knife.
This is a great knife and stays sharp for a long time. It loses one star because it is mis represented as never needing to be sharpened. The recessed edge does indeed keep it sharper for longer. However, when you cut a piece of meat or what have you friction will still happen. The edge will eventually wear down. It takes years so it's still a great investment, but the mis representation still loses it a star.
P.S. To the reviewer who uses this knife for a disabled child. No knife will cut you just sitting on your skin, you must apply friction by slicing or as you put it, "sawing". Please please please do not assume your child can not cut herself with these. They are very sharp and should be handled with as much care as any other sharp object.
Response from CUTCO:By KathleenMarketingOctober 4, 2011
Our knives that feature the Double-D recessed edge will indeed need to be sharpened, but should stay sharp for years. Once they begin to show signs of drag, contact a sales representative for in-home sharpening or visit the Sharpening page on our website to learn more about sending it back to the factory for free sharpening under our Forever Guarantee.

"adaptive" knife
I bought these years ago for my child with Down's Syndrome because she is able to hold the knife and cut food indeoendently. It was also included in her IEP so one could be kept at school for meals. Further, it was safe as it would not cut her unless she "sawed." They look as good today as when purchased.

Best table knife ever
I'm actually a Vector Marketing Sales rep right now, but I've purchased my own pieces since I actually love these products so much. The table knife is one of my most used knives in the kitchen and out of it nowadays. Whenever i go to restaurants, this knife is a must as other knives (steak or otherwise) just won't cut it anymore, pun not intended. But ya this knife cuts through the toughest of meats and trims the fat off nicely on anything that's on my plate. Whether you live by yourself, with your family, or go out to eat I'd suggest getting this knife as it's very handy.
I use this product for:anything on the plate

Forever guarantee
BEWARE!!!! The FOREVER REPLACEMENT SERVICE AGREEMENT FOR MISUSE OR ABUSE states:
Should you damage your CUTCO through misuse or abuse, we will replace the item for one half of the current retail price plus shipping/handling and tax.
Send the product with an explanatory note to the CUTCO address below. BEWARE: If you happen to lose an item, it will NOT be replaced for one half the current retail price. You pay FULL price. It makes no sense. Abuse a knife all you want and get a replacement discounted. Lose it and you're out of luck. C'mon Cutco. Your knives are quality, but over priced. The company can afford to extend the FOREVER REPLACEMENT to lost items. I guess someone in my family will be sharing a steak knife until you include lost knives in the guarantee. You have lost a longtime happy customer. 1 star is for very poor customer service only. Your supervisors didn't even have the courtesy to get on the line and speak with me.

Love These Knives!
I've owned other Cutco knives for over 25 years and am sorry I never purchased these before. Being a lifelong vegetarian, I always bypassed these, thinking of them as "steak" knives. I purchased six of them to help a college-aged salesperson and am so glad I did! They are lightweight, beautiful and a joy to use every day as a replacement for our standard table knives.

Not a man's steak knife!
My husband was very disappointed with this purchase of steak knives. In fact, he refuses to use them because they are too small and "sissy". Actually, we both would have preferred "larger" steak knives. You can't judge the size from the picture. But, I am satisfied with my other six kitchen knives (purchased years ago).
I use this product for:cutting meat at mealtime., lately we have not used them.

Love it!
These table knives make easy cutting of any dense meat like pork chops or a good steak. Because they make cutting so easy they add a lot to the pleasure of the meal! The ease of cutting also saves the china plates!

Just "ok"
Cutco knives are some of the best if not the best knives I've ever used. With that said I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the table knife. All other knives that I own have a visible tine with rivets through the handle. Very sturdy construction. These however are not constructed this way. For the price of $30.00 each I would expect more. Wish I would have looked closer at the picture before spending what I spent for 6 of these things.

Sharp, but the handle leaves much to be desired.
This is a very sharp table knife which is nice. (I was a little worried about my plates actually. I would not use these on china.)
The blade is very short and rounded, which makes this look like "my first knife". Not elegant looking on a table. They are very light weight and the standard cutco grip isn't a good fit for how you hold a dinner knife. These were returned with the rest of the set.

Tops in versatility!
I like all my Cutco knives, but my favourite is the table knives. As a vegetarian, I find myself needing to cut lots of fruits and vegetables, and my table knives are always up to the task. They are especially great for tomatoes as they slice so cleanly. If I could only use one knife for the rest of my life, it would be a Cutco table knife!

Made a better cook of myself!
My Cutco knives made me a better cook. I can prepare and serve meals with ease. So, I can focus on the great food that I make instead of the ingredients preparation. Thank you for a well design product Cutco!

I think a friend took it home
I had to purchase a new steak knife, one came up missing after a dinner party.... probably was deposited in the trash by accident. However I noted a friend of mine going through my trash the next day. Just joking...I have owned my set for over 8 years now, and could not be happier.....Thanks CutCo..

You're Going to Love Them
These table knives are the very best, sharpest, well made knives I have ever purchased. The only way that you will ever need to replace one is if you lose it. They are pricey, but over the long haul, a really great value. I have had mine for over twenty two years.
