Great Block!
I bought the homemaker set first, and wanted this set but couldn't afford it at first. When I did get more knives I had nowhere to put them. So I bought this block next and slowly added the pieces a few at a time until my set was complete. I am really happy with it and love having everything accessible so that I can use them when I need them. I make good use of my set and really enjoy preparing food because of my great knives. The block is great quality and holds a variety of knives to have a custom set if you need it. If I could do it again, I would have started with this block and the homemaker set so that I could add on pieces as time went on. I was in college when I bought my first set and it was a great investment. I'll be using it my entire life and won't ever need to replace my knives.

Love my block
I did the opposite of cookinginCt. I kept buying knives and storing them in their cardboard sheaths in the drawer. I hated searching for the right knife amongst ten different ones. I finally gave in and bought the ultimate set block. I love it. It sits on the shelf above my sink and is not only handy but beautiful. It is so easy to grab just the right knife. I have three trimmers and they fit perfectly in the slots for the boning knife and salmon knife which I don't need. The block is quite heavy and well made.

Best Knives Ever
These knives are the best investment I have ever made! I enjoy cooking, but always hated my other knives. Cutco knives have made my time in the kitchen easier and more enjoyable. I loved them so much I bought the 32 piece ultimate set. My husband says the only thing sharper than my Cutco knives are my tounge! Ouch!

Excellent Block
I bought this for my husband as a base, then I plan to buy one or two pieces each birthday or Christmas until it's full someday. Excellent quality! Good, solid block.
