I use this knife every day for everything! It's my one go-to knife in the kitchen. I've had it for years and it needs honing once a week or so. Finally after over seven years I am sending it back to get resharpened.
You simply cannot go wrong with this knife. it's got a great balance; the blade is long enough to cut long things like carrots, and it's wide enough for turnips, potatoes and beets.
The weight is just right, too, being just heavy enough to easily get through thicker items without a lot of pushing and sawing, but also not being heavy on the arms. I have fibromyalgia so I love the weight and balance of this knife.
It holds an edge well, and believe me, I've put it through it's paces over the years, using it on a wooden cutting board!

I would also recoomend the cleaver and the santoku knives.
