Pruner
I have NOT found a better pruner. This has got to be the best one made yet! Even through some of the toughest plants, it has withstood everything. The return policy can't be beat. Thanks so much to CUTCO!

Absolutely a must have!
I have purchased three of these in my lifetime. Two have been gifts. These pruners will last a lifetime. A little disappointed they are being discontinued but I am looking forward to the replacement.

Can't Live Without Them
Every year I send my pruners back for a sharpening. I am lost without them. Thank goodness Cutco doesn't mess around. I usually have them back in a week to 10 days. I have not purchased pruners in at least 8 years, and probably will never have to. If you work in your yard at all, this tool is one you can't live without.

Ratchet Pruner
Bought a Cutco ratchet pruner several years ago and after much use decided to return it along with a friend's pruner for sharpening. Did not realize that Cutco w/o contacting me would replace the pruner with one of lesser quality thinking that we would be thrilled with their new-fangled choice. The newer one does not come close in comparison to cutting thick branches like the returned pruner. Be aware that when returning Cutco items for sharpening that they will/can replace the sent item without telling you ahead of time. Tried getting the original pruners back so we could take them to a local sharpening store but was unsuccessful with the attempt. Have been reluctant in purchasing any other Cutco products after the pruner experience. When buying from a college student by the time you realize a mistake has been made the college student is no longer selling Cutco products!!!

Second Best Cutco Investment
The rachet pruner is the second best Cutco investment that I have made! (The first is my paring knife). I have many long stem rose bushes and cut flowers for inside the house. My bushes keep blooming and blooming. I get a clean cut every time. I purchased this product many years ago at the urging of my son. I keep it in the house because I am afraid that the gardener will accidentally walk off with it! Cutco is the best.

Very disappointed item
This is the worst and very frustrated pruner we've ever owned. When I had a sales Rep. came to my house, I questioned him about the pruner. He didn't have sample item to show me, but he highly recommended the pruner. So I bought it. Now, I am so disappointed that I listened to him. My Conona brand pruner which we've paid 1/4 of amount over 10 years ago still cut better with less maintenance. We have a lot of rose bushes and other fruit trees. When I used this pruner first time for pruning rose bushes, I followed the direction for using this product from cutco muanual. It crushed some rose braches when I tried to cut. It didn't leave clean cut at all, so I had to change to my old pruner for roses. They need to redesign the part. Also, the handle of this product is not designed well for comfort and its size. My friend also bought this pruner from the same sales rep., and she is very disappointed with this product.
It is frustrating that I can't get any refund. I wish they would reconstruct the pruner, and I could replace it.
This product is not for heavy gardners.

expect replacement every 5 yrs or so
This pruner actually works pretty well. But it doesn't hold up over time with routine gardening use. (I have 15 rhododendrums which need annual care) I had to replace the pruner about 6 years ago, and now I have to replace it again. But that is why it's so expensive, I guess, Cutco must include replacement cost in the $84 pricetag. ( It does have a lifetime warranty). So I have to pay $5 to ship it back.

Worst Pruners Ever
I bought these pruners to replace a plastic ratchet pruner from Kmart that I loved and used hard for many years. This pruner is not nearly as good as the Kmart. The blades nicked badly within the first year. The mechanism is poorly designed with too close tolerances and so jams and cloggs easily. Too bad - good materials, bad design. These are possibly OK for light work, but not the heavy yard work I need them for. They are most definitely not worth the $6 shipping to send them back for repair. After spending almost $100 for them, I am very disappointed. This is my first Cutco purchase and I will not buy from them again.

very handy pruner
I like the pruner very much. It is a great addtion to my garden tool bucket. It does well racheting through thicker stems. And makes clean cuts. I like the bit smaller convenient size as well. I wish it had come with a case but have an extra hori hori garden knife case that it fits well into.

Cut everything in my garden with this. Cuts through thicker branches on bushes, as well. A "must have" with the trowel. These 2 items, I use everytime I work in my garden. Durable, have had for years now.

LOVE my Cutco
I have owned Cutco products since 1973 when my girlfriend's brother was selling. I purchased the entire kit including utensils that were available. Since then I have added to my collection. I just LOVE all my Cutco products. I tell everyone they should own them!

I had to send the Pruner back 3 different - always paying the postage until I was offered free postage during the last call from a delightful rep. They always broke in the same spot during the 1st-2nd use. I finally had to request another product, Super Shears, be sent w/o my having to pay the difference in price. I had purchased them from my nephew who was working his way thru college - mistake!

Sized right for smaller hand
I have had my Cutco ratchet pruner for many years now and it is wonderful. My hand strength leaves a lot to be desired, but you would never know it when I'm using this tool.
Now if you would just make a bypass pruner on the same principles that can make short work of spring and fall rose pruning!
I love the knives and my scissors, as well as this wonderful tool. You've got me covered!

would not recommend
These cut really well but they lock up after the cut. Cutco replaced the clippers last year and the new pair doesn't work right either. I'm ready to send them back because they are so annoying. I LOVE my knives.

my favorite garden tool
I have problems with strength in my hands and this tool is so wonderful as I do not need a lot of strength to operate it! I love the ratcheting mechanism as it makes it so much easier to cut my hedges - no need to wrestle normal pruners and try to get limbs cut with brute force. One of the best garden tool purchases I have ever made! I can't believe I spent the money, but I sure am glad I did! They are worth every penny!!!

Finally a reliable garden tool!
I have purchased many garden clipper and pruner tools all of which have dulled quickly and would not cut through rose bushes or other brush in my Michigan yard. Some brands have offered guarantees that they try to not honor upon product failure. Quite happily, the Cutco pruner does the job every time and with its ratcheting action cuts through larger branches than any of my other tools and with less hand fatique. Great tool, and Cutco has stood behind their promise to sharpen the tool! The tool didn't require sharpening till it was over ten yrs. old!

My husband loves your Ratchet Pruner
I bought these garden clippers for my husband and he braggs that they are by far the best clippers he has ever used. They were purchased years ago and are still sharp. The ratcheting action makes cutting larger branches much more easily handled. Thanks!

DON'T DO IT
THESE ARE TRULY THE WORST PRUNERS I HAVE EVER BOUGHT. MY TEETH CUT BETTER THAN THESE DO. I WAS TOLD THAT I AM CUTTING WRONG BUT I AM 48 AND HAVE BEEN GARDENING FOR 30 YEARS. I THINK I KNOW HOW TO USE PRUNERS.
THE KNIVES ARE THE BEST. YOU CAN'T GET ANY BETTER JUST STAY AWAY FROM THE PRUNERS..... YUK

Ratchet Pruner
I purchased the ratchet pruner as a gift for my husband. CUTCO has the reputation for quality and dependability, so I knew the pruner would be exceptional. It exceeded my expectation. So easy to use, light weight with a sharp clean cut. Now we need a second pruner so he gets to use it!
