Sharp, Versatile Kitchen Staple

My mother had a uni-directional peeler that she has had since the 1970's, and she always insisted that it worked fine. However, it was the most dull and difficult peeler to use, and it peeled only for right-handed people who peel relatively smooth potatoes or carrots toward themselves. After getting frustrated when trying to peel lots of potatoes and apples, I bought her the Cutco peeler for Christmas. She mildly admitted that it worked well for carrots and potatoes. She turned into a huge fan, however, when she peeled squash with the peeler. Peeling squash is not the easiest of tasks, especially with a dull, antiquated peeler, but she said peeling squash with this Cutco peeler was like cutting through butter or peeling a thin-skinned carrot. I'ved used this peeler frequently, and I love it, too. Bottom line: This peeler is sharp, easy to use for left-handed and right-handed people, and it peels anything. Definitely worth the investment.

This peeler is wonderful! I even let my 8 year old daughter use it under my supervision. It is comfortable to hold, and makes peeling any fruit or vegetable so quick and easy.. I am ordering a second one to have ...

OK...if anyone says this is not the best peeler ever then there is something wrong with them!!! They must work for a competitor. I actually hid my peeler from my ex when we were divorcing because I wanted it!!! I ended up giving it to my sister-in-law because she has MS.(That's why I came to this site to get me another one!!) She loves it and now her mom wants one too...looks like I will be buying Cutco for Christmas presents!! :-) It just melts the peeling off of everything with no effort. Love it!!!

I simply don't like it. It does not peel cleanly, misses a lot of peel, have to go over the same area several times. Awkward for me to use it.
